Celebrating creative learning and a new partnership
26 February 2025

RIVIAM Digital Care and Bath Philharmonia are delighted to announce RIVIAM Digital Care as the orchestra’s latest Gold Corporate Patron supporting a range of incredible work in nurturing young people’s creativity and musicality. As part of their Creative Learning Programme, Bath Phil works with young carers from across the South West as well as school aged children from Bath and beyond. So far this year, Bath Phil has invited teenagers from local secondary school, Ralph Allen School, to take up an opportunity to engage in creative composition and performance. The music was created by the young people, using the metaphor of Fire as inspiration. Bath Phil then orchestrated their music and the young people had the opportunity to perform with the orchestra to an audience of over 1,000 people on Valentine’s Day.

RIVIAM Digital Care's CEO and Founder, Paul Targett, has attended Bath Phil’s concerts and has been impressed by the passion and talent demonstrated by young performers and the power of music to inspire and connect young people.
“We are super excited to support the Bath Philharmonia School Projects across Southwest England” said Paul Targett, RIVIAM’s CEO and Founder.
Bath Phil’s commitment to showcase young people’s creativity in their professional concerts is what makes them a unique charity. 2025 is the orchestra’s 25th anniversary and this year the Creative Learning team will work with young carers in every school holiday, involve teenagers from 16 secondary schools in Bath and surrounding areas including 2 special schools, 9 state schools and 5 independents in a collaborative choral project to be performed in May.

Bath Phil takes huge pride in opening up access to music making for young people no matter what their backgrounds and putting young people centre stage.
“We are thrilled with this exciting new partnership with RIVIAM Digital Care. As two Bath-based organisations positively impacting communities locally, regionally and nationally, we also share a desire to improve young people's lives, enabling them to thrive. We're hugely grateful to Paul, Christine and the team for recognising our shared aims and values in becoming out latest Corporate Patron - and look forward to celebrating the real impact of meaningful collaboration between business and the arts,” said Adam Powell, Co-Chair, Bath Philharmonia.

We begin this partnership with a clear sense of alignment with our respective core values of inclusion, quality and care. Access to music and the arts plays a vital role in mental well-being, self-expression and personal development and we believe every child should have the opportunity to explore their creative potential. We look forward to witnessing the incredible impact that live orchestral music and music-making have on young people.
