RIVIAM starts 2025 with welcoming two new team members

With the ever-evolving health sector, the need for efficiency solutions rises constantly. RIVIAM kicks off 2025 by welcoming two exceptional leaders to the team, each bringing unique experience and a shared commitment to transforming health and social care. John Shaw, our new Business and Market Development Director, and Dave Parsons, our Customer Project Delivery Manager, are set to drive innovation, collaboration, and impactful change in our mission to improve lives through healthcare technology.

John Shaw - Business and Market Development Director

With over three decades of experience in the public sector, John brings an advanced skillset and a genuine passion for driving meaningful change. His career has been dedicated to improving health and social care, with standout achievements such as leading the creation of one of the UK’s first fully integrated Single Points of Access for children’s services in Devon. This groundbreaking initiative transformed service delivery, making life easier for families and professionals alike.

John was drawn to RIVIAM by the opportunity to work with a team committed to solving complex challenges in health and social care. He’s particularly inspired by our innovative products and their potential to connect public and voluntary sectors more effectively. His focus as Business and Market Development Director will be on showcasing the real-world impact of our solutions, helping commissioners and stakeholders see the difference RIVIAM can make, even in the face of tight budgets and high demands.

What motivates John most is collaboration - he’s all about working together to achieve shared goals. He’s looking forward to building on RIVIAM’s successes, scaling our reach, and exploring new opportunities for growth.

When he’s not helping shape the future of health and social care, John is a classically trained musician who plays bass in a band every week, keeping his creative side alive. He’s also passionate about supporting others through executive coaching, applying his leadership skills to help people reach their potential. His life philosophy is one we should all remember:

Dave Parsons - Customer Project Delivery Manager

We’re excited to welcome Dave Parsons as RIVIAM’s new Customer Project Delivery Manager. With over three decades of experience in telecoms and technology, Dave brings a unique blend of technical expertise and a passion for purposeful work.

Dave began his career with a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, joining BT’s graduate program in 1987. Over the years, he’s held key roles at companies like Cisco and Ciena, specialising in helping customers deploy innovative services. In 2022, he worked at RIVIAM as a temporary Delivery Manager, laying the groundwork for his full-time return in 2025.

Drawn by RIVIAM’s mission to improve lives through healthcare technology, Dave’s focus is on scaling delivery processes to efficiently meet growing demands. He is excited to work with a small company that is agile and can make a real difference in the industry. His collaborative approach and dedication to learning reflect his belief in creating a positive, goal-oriented environment. Dave’s motto in life is:
