Ten new immunisations programmes go live since January 2022
At RIVIAM we have the agility, skills and technology to innovate at pace.
In just 5 weeks, we have responded to our customer's urgent needs by delivering 10 new immunisation programmes supporting the provision of HPV, DTP, COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations.
Rising to the challenge
On 29 November 2021, the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) provided further guidance regarding the COVID-19 immunisation programme in response to the emerging threat from the Omicron variant. Children and young people aged 12 to 15 were advised to have a booster COVID-19 vaccination to provide stronger, longer-lasting protection against the virus helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to others.
Pressure on school-age immunisation teams
School-age immunisation teams are now tackling the challenge to both deliver the annual HPV and DTP immunisation programmes and hold clinics offering an additional COVID-19 part one or part two booster. Teams are also under pressure to deliver these programmes as quickly and efficiently as possible, ensuring that children who do not attend a school setting or miss a school immunisations clinic can also book an appointment at a community clinic.
All of this hard work is paying off as more children aged 12 to 15 are receiving their COVID-19 vaccine. According to a recent ONS study since the COVID-19 booster programme for children, 61% of adults with a child aged 12 to 15 years said their child had already received a COVID-19 vaccine. This figure has increased by 50% since early December.
RIVIAM delivers programmes in record times
Since the New Year, we have supported our customers, ensuring that school-aged immunisation teams are ready and able to deliver these immunisation programmes as quickly and efficiently as possible. As a result, RIVIAM has successfully launched a record number of immunisation programmes in just a matter of weeks across all customers. Immunisation programmes include COVID-19 first and second dose programmes, HPV and bookable immunisation clinics for Flu and Covid- 19, and a digital solution whereby teams can co-administer vaccines.
“Our NHS immunisation customers are currently under enormous pressure. It’s fantastic to see our ability to innovate quickly and RIVIAM’s technology helping them deliver care whilst saving them time, money and resources.” Paul Targett, Managing Director, RIVIAM Digital Care.
Over the next few weeks, we will support our customers with 6 further programmes.
